what do you guys think of the names ambra (prn AHM-bruh) and giada (prn JAH-duh) for girls? they're the italian words for amber and jade, and i think they're really pretty. my parents, who are from italy, think they sound stupid and made up.

any opinions?

I like Ambra better that Giada... only becuase I think everyone would mispronounce the G one. Maybe as a middle name it would work out good....

i agree - giada would definitely get mispronounced. i'm not a big fan of either name... but they wouldn't be so bad for middles.

I think they're pretty names. I like Ambra best. I knew a girl named Giuliana and people would pronounce her name wrong, it will probably be the same way with Giada, just something to think about. If you like it that's what matters.

i like Ambra but Giada could have issues w/ pronunciation. and i think its neat that they mean amber and jewel.

agree with everyone else, ambra is nice, giada is pretty but people would prob. pronounce it jee-ah-da. neither sounds made up to me. and since they're NOT made up i wouldn't worry.
