Book names!

I just finished Jodi Picoult's My Sister's Keeper. Book lovers, you should all read it. It's incredible.

Sara Fitzgerald (mom)
Brian Fitzgerald (dad)
Jesse Fitzgerald(son)
Kate Fitzgerald (sick daughter)
Andromeda, Anna for short Fitzgerald (daughter)
Cambell Alexander (lawyer)
Julia (guardian ad litum)


What do you think? The only name in there that "fits" the story is Anna's full name, Andromeda, because her father LOVES the stars.

I really enjoyed that book, and I liked that Anna's name was the only one with any direct, clear meaning - the other names were just normal everyday names. It made it more believable, whereas if all of the characters had "out there" names, it would be been less believable. :)

I LOVE the name Jesse for a boy, I seriously want to use it. It is my third favourite name.
I also really like Kate but it's so overused. I can't even count the number of Kate/Katie's I have known!
Andromeda is really interesting. Ann is a bit of a dull name, especially in comparason.
I really hate the name Brian. Yuk!

How weird, i just finshed Jodi Picoults 'the pact' last night (for the second time, i read it last summer) & i have been riffling through my bookcases for my copy of 'my sister's keeper' this morning!- i can't seem to find it i must have lent it out. It is such a great book though, made me cry :-( Especially because I had a friend Anna who...well the thing that happens to her at the end of the book also happened to my friend. (wont ruin it for anyone wanting to read it) Read the pact if you havent already, it's brilliant, i am in love with one of the characters, Chris. Just to keep the theme of names in here, the way she spells Jodi really annoys me!

I agree, that book KICKS ass. I love the names she uses, too, especially Kate and Jesse and Brian. And as ... weird? as Andromeda is, I love the way she wrote that part with Brian and Anna.

I just finished reading that book last week and I absolutely loved it...the story and the way it was written. :) Anna's name and nickname were my favorite. but I did also like Campbell Alexander. Did it never mention Julia's last name? That's weird, considering there weren't that many characters and hers was the only one without a last name. Hmmph.

Julia's sister's name is Isobel, which I thought was fabulous.

And because Andromeda is between her mother and father ♥. I love that book, I just finished reading it for the second time. I actually really love Anna's name and thought about using it as a middle name, however the father isn't going to be involved so it didn't really have the same meaning. Haha. I don't really care for any of the other names, I guess. They're nice, but nothing special.
