What iff you had to make a list of your top 5 no no names? Names you wouldn't use no matter if it were your SO's dead grandma's or grandpa's name. What would the list be?

I'll exclude ayden names from my list but fo the record... I dislike them all but Aiden but I've said that before with it being a real name, with an  origin and stuff.

Top 'no' names for girls in no particular order:

Nevaeh
Ramona
Ebonie
Ivory
Dominique
Monique

Top 'no' name for boys in no particular order:

Jackson
Ashley
Joe
Bob (I do like Robert though... just not Bob as a name...)
Israel (too... location for me)

I, too, am way over Isabella. I always preferred Isabelle anyway. The "a" on the end makes it a bit more pretentious, IMHO.

Theodosia. My mother is still bitter that my father didn't let her name me that and has tried to convince me to use it for a future daughter. No.

Neveah/Nevaeh. Either way, it sucks.

The "son" names (they can be lumped together) as in Addison/Madison/et al

Janelle. Just the sound grates my nerves.

Gertrude. Some names should be left alone. Forever.

Boys:

Dwayne. It just doesn't sound right.

Jordan. I've known too many.

Andrew. I hate both Andy and Drew.

Jackson/Jaxon Just name your son Jack for the love of money!

Jayden/Jaden/however they spell it now. Just ugh.

Girls:
1. Nevaeh - JUST NO
2. Anna/Anne/Annie/Annette - my Grandma's name is Anna, so we have about 5000 different variations of the name in my family...Deanne, Joanne, etc. MiL's name is Annette, and it's too close to the Ann craze!
3. Katherine (or any variation of it) - Way too common in this area
4. Isabella (and variations) - Especially after the Twilight craze UGH
5. Madison (and variations) - It's kinda sad, I used to love this name as a kid because of the movie Splash D:

Boys:
1. Robert - Don't like the nicknames
2. Richard - Don't like it or the nicknames!
3. Michael - I can't even pinpoint what I don't like about it
4. Fred - My biological father's name that conjures up images of the devil
5. Jordan - Every Jordan I've ever met is annoying

I'm gonna stick with names that are more common that I hate, as there are so many.

Kaylee
Riley
Anything with a "lyn" or "lin" Brooklyn, Braelyn, Maelyn even just Kaitlyn
Emily and all variants (thank god I didn't name my child Emmeline!)
Abigail (gail just sounds so ugly to me)

Mason
Jayden in particular, but hate them all
Ethan
Liam
Parker

I hate Caitlin spelled with a K in any form, and especially with any Y's, but that's partially because my sister's name is Caitlin and people ALWAYS spell it wrong, even though hers is the traditional spelling, because of the proliferation of Katelynns and Kaitlyns and such.

Pretty much any name that traditionally begins with a C, but some bright person decided to be kre8tiv and make it a K name, grates on me (even Katherine).

Aww, but Ramona is pretty! :) I agree with all of your other ones though. Except I don't mind Ashley on a guy. Don't like it-- it's too Aussie beach dude for me. But don't hate it either.

Mine:

Wyatt
Keith (unfortunately this is the name of my husband's late grandfather... and he has no middle name!)
Carson
Earl
Jeremy

Peyton
Angelica
Destiny
Miranda
Camille

I'd have Nevaeh too, but I don't even consider it to be a name. Same with Kaylee and Jayden et al.

I love Abigail, but I know about those bad associations. I once had a demon spawn in after-school care named Nicholas, which was one of my very favorite names for a boy, but I can't bring myself to name any child of mine Nicholas less I curse him with the behavior of this kid.

Ashley
Mc/Mac names (Makayla in all forms included).
Brandy/i
Bertha (just to throw in an old/horrible sounding one)

There's a whole world of names I would never use.

I would never use a name that refers to an actual thing or attribute (the name of a flower, Faith, Hope, Joy, Love, Chastity, Charity, Prudence, Patience, Chance, Chase, Honor, Precious, any gemstone, any day of the week, any number, any month, any season, any country, most cities).

I would not name my child after a child of a celebrity, except for names that were already common (no Maddox, Lourdes, Harlan, or Violet, etc.)

I would never use a creative spelling of a common name.

I wouldn't name a child after myself or my husband, or attempt to combine our names somehow.

I wouldn't name a child after someone I was friends with, because I just think that's awkward.

Miscellaneous other names I wouldn't use because of negative connections to people I know:
Mark
Alyssa
Kyle
Addison
William
Jennifer
Tamara

I hate too many names! Here's a top 10.

Alyssa/Marissa/Clarissa - I'm a Melissa, so other -issa names seem made-up and tacky to me. I don't mind Larissa as much though.
Madison/Addison
Taylor
Aubrey
Lillian
Destiny
Peyton
Evangeline
Mac/Mc/Mak anything
Shyann - Cheyenne is bad enough, but this spelling is terrible

Brayden - my least favorite -ayden.
Camden - Camden NJ is the worst city. I don't care how cute or trendy it looks, don't name your child that.
Cooper
Tyler
Isaiah
Malachi
Dakota
Ralph
Ezekiel/Zeke
Sawyer

I only really have one, actually: Gertrude.

A lot of other names I dislike because they're ridiculously trendy or because they're just silly and I don't think very highly of the people who would choose them ... but these aren't the same as regular, normal people names. In terms of those kind of names, I feel like I could almost possibly be persuaded about most.

girls

Harper- it seems trendy now and it ALWAYS makes me think of someone who harps on others and that's obviously a bad thing. i hate it.

Rowan- really nasty sounding. not a pleasant name at all.

Gretchen- same as above. very harsh.

Margaret- same thing i guess, heh. doesn't sound nice.

Kathleen- don't like it

boys

Matt- i just really fucking hate this name and it's waay way way too popular

for the rest, names that seem to have been popular in the 80s like Todd, Dwight, Wayne, Wade, etc. ick
