we're having our first child and the first grandchild in four weeks!

we're leaving the baby's sex a surprise so what variations of george do you like for a girl?

I love the name Georgiana. I think it's incredibly elegant and sweet, and it reminds me of Pride and Prejudice. Maybe with the nickname Georgie? I wouldn't use Georgie on its own. Georgia is REALLY pretty too.

i really like the name georgia. in elem. school i had a best friend with the name so i don't think i could use it. not any bad connotation, it's just when you've known someone for so long with the name it would be weird to use it.

My Sister's bestfriend is named Georgina and they call her Gigi, she was also named after her grandfather George. She named her daughter Jorja (sounds the same as Georgia) because she's a BIG CSI fan :) I like Jorja and Georgia :) Good luck!!

Everytime I think of the name Georgiana, I hear Caroline Bingley exclaiming "Ah! Dear Georgiana!" in the 1995 BBC adaption of Pride & Prejudice. That aside, I do like the name. Georgia is probably my favourite of the lot, though.

I like Georgia best, also like Georgiana, and Georgette is nice too! although overall i wouldn't choose any of them, if it's a girl couldn't you get out of it by saying "not a first born boy" or something? but if tradition is important, go with it! or maybe compromise on a middle name of george or something. I do like Georgia though!
