It's always seemed weird to me that they skip Q and U. I mean, I guess I get it, but still.
I also like the retired names (http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/retirednames.shtml). It's like, they can use the names over and over until they get famous enough, like Elvis or Madonna or something, lol.
Well, I'd be interested to hear other opinions (OP? Want to pitch in?), but I would guess that they probably become less popular. Katrina was on the rise in 2005, the year the hurricane hit. It was 246, and plummeted to 381, then 603, then 717.
hasn't there already been an henri? i swear to god there was because when i was little i thought it was henry and my mom had to correct me.
i'm really surprised some of these hadn't been used yet, though. like grace, kate, peter, rose, and sam. i really hope kate doesn't turn out to be a devastating hurricane everyone remembers like katrina, it'll ruin one of my favorite names.
Crap! They used my name! I'm a Kate. And actually, they used my dad's too. He's a Nicholas. I'm loving that *both* Claudette and Odette are on the list. :)
