What do you think of the name Xan as a nickname for Alexandra? That's the name of the (ex?)girlfriend of one of my favorite musicians (lol). I think it's kind of badass. I don't even like the name Alexandra THAT much.

i'm alexandria nicknamed xan :] my little sister goes by allie, and there are so many alex's... plus i like using the x... sometimes i also go by xandria, alternating between "ex" and "z" sounds at the beginning. but xan is the most common shortening of my name when i want to use one.

i don't think i had ever heard of the nickname Xan for Alexandra/Alexandria. i think it's really cool, and very unique in response to so many of the "alex" or "lexi" nicknames out there. nice, xan :)

On some Lifetime movie my mom was watching a few weeks ago, a girl was named Alexandra and want by Zanna/Zan (spelling according to the captioning). They said her name constantly that it now gets on my nerves, ha.

I like Francois and Marlina. Lo (short for Laura) is one of my best friend's names, and I knew a girl in high school named Valeria, rhymed with malaria.

yeah, that's how Valeria pronounces her name. a lot of people make fun of her for it, but idgi, that's how it's supposed to be pronounced and it's a beautiful name anyway. i LOVE the name Marlina. and i love your icon, lol. i wanted him to win so bad. :(

Everyone would pronounce her name Valerie-a, so she had to correct people constantly. Thanks, I did too. :'( He's going to have an amazing career though.

I dislike it, sorry. I love Alexandra. It's probably my second favorite girl's name. But I dislike Xan. I also dislike Xander as a nn for Alexander. My favorite nn for Alexandra is Alex, believe it or not!

Xan reminds me of a character on the sci-fi TV series Farscape. It's been off air for quite a few years now I think, and I know they made some movies to go along with it... Anyway Xan (dunno how she spelled it) was a tall, bald, blue woman, and a priestess of some sort if I remember correctly.
