Just throwing names out there

Hey, not planning for kids for the next few year (been with my boyfriend for just about a year, so no marriage or kids anytime soon lol) but i love names!

I have trouble with middle names, which if I end up marrying my boyfriend won't be a problem because he has no middle name and he says, "if we come up with something awesome, great, if not it's no big deal" and I tend to agree. Feel free to suggest some though.

Boys:
Owen
Logan
Liam
Nathaniel
Jordan
Caleb

Girls:
Mandalyn (yeah yeah kre8tyve spelling shush!)
Layla
Autumn
Serenity (and i know about the brand, but outside of this community i've NEVER heard a word about them)

Feel free to give me names you think i'd like ^_^

oh and once many years ago, as a joke, a guy friend of mine and i sat down and thought of names to name "our kids". Don't ask. They were:
Angelina Mandalyn LaFortuna
Logan Nicolai LaFortuna
he's italian and Angelina and Nicolai are relatives. I thought they were fun names (not that i would actually name them that hehe).

Owen - lovely.
Logan - I like.
Liam - I knew one growing up and he was an odd-ball, but it's still a nice name.
Nathaniel - I prefer "Nathan", "Nathaniel" is too much for me.
Jordan - nice.
Caleb - not for me.

Girls:
Mandalyn - I don't like it... sorry.
Layla - this (spelt "Laila") is my absoulte favorite girls name of all time :)! (Laila Brynn!!)
Autumn - pretty, but not my style.
Serenity - not for me.

Haha I use to LOVE Party of Five.

We're naming our boy due in October, Owen [a PO5 name] and if we have another boy in the future, we're naming him Bailey [also a PO5 name]. All coincidental =)

I like the spelling better because "Layla" makes me think of "Kayla" with an "L"... and I really dislike the name "Kayla" ... plus I think i's and prettier than y's. That's just me. :)

*See icon* - Owen is what we're naming our little one, so obviously it's a great choice! =)

Boys:
Owen- *see above* Love it!
Logan- Like it, but could never use it [half my husband's family, including him have worked at Logan's Roadhouse -a restaurant-]
Liam- Never really cared for it much.
Nathaniel- Love it
Jordan- It's ok.. one of those boyish names I prefer for a girl.
Caleb- Like it

Girls:
Mandalyn- An instrument my dad plays.
Layla- Pretty
Autumn- Like it
Serenity- Not liking it so much

I love Nathaniel and I like Autumn the best out of your girls names.

I really love Owen and Caleb. Nathaniel is ok, but I prefer Nathan. For some reason, Layla (along with Lola) are stripper names to me. I have no idea why. Maybe because they sound like Lolita? And I actually really like Serenity. :)

i love all of your boy names!

i tend to favor michael as a mn..i think it can flow nicely with a bunch of names.

Serenity is really pretty. I was talking about baby names at my work and one of my coworkers suggested it. I kind of like Serena better, bc i'd worry that Serenity would get "Ren" for a nn at least at some point in her life! (or even "Sren" spoken aloud - shudder!)

I have an obsession with possible horrible nn's though....i always got bad ones!

I also really like Autumn. I have Summer on my list, mainly bc I'm hoping (eventually) to have a June or July-born baby!

Logan will always make me think of Logan Echolls from Veronica Mars, but that's a good thing! And Serenity? Yep, Serenity from Firefly.

Oh, I'm such a fangirl.

Anyway, I like Liam for a boy and Layla for a girl (I don't think the song will be popular enough by the time you have a kid for it to bother her with people singing it or whatever).

[identity profile] trissyd.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
The song is "Lyla" anyways.
(unless you're thinking of a different one)

[identity profile] xanya.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep, I was talking about 'Layla' by Eric Clapton. Ha, see not even well known enough now to cause a problem!

[identity profile] xanya.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
I think it's a really pretty name too! Also, I love the song. It's just, if I ever met a Layla, I would totally be like "Layla, you've got me on my knees. Layla, I'm begging darling please!" etc.

Boys:
Owen- love
Logan- ehh not sure, it's not really a "name"- its a street name close to me, thats probably why i dont like it
Liam- love
Nathaniel- hate, but i like nate.
Jordan- hate
Caleb- it's okay

Girls:
Mandalyn (yeah yeah kre8tyve spelling shush!)- sorry, this is terrible... i hate amanda &... the only instrument i'd like to name my daughter after is viola, รก la shakespeare, because he's cool.
Layla- prefer Leila, bit blah, but pretty. Prefer Lola even more so to Leila.
Autumn- like
Serenity (and i know about the brand, but outside of this community i've NEVER heard a word about them)- i dont know what brand serenity, but nevertheless i dislike it as a name... it's a pretty meaning, but it's a word...
