Bliss

I really like the name Bliss for a girl, and I actually don't have many favorite girl names.

I realize that most people are probably like absolutely not..but does anyone else like it?

There was a girl at my high school with the name and for her senior picture she dressed up like audrey hepburn and just generally seemed like a cool person. that's why i like it so much, i think. you know how people can affect the names you like, either good or bad? that happens with me a lot.

anyways, i think i'd use it more for a middle name though.

My favorite is Mirella.

Bliss reminds me of Bless, which is "bye" in Icelandic. I like Bless, but I don't think I'd ever use it.

I've always liked the name Bliss, especially as a middle. Same with Blythe, which has a similar meaning, I believe.

I really like Joelle. And Marielle. And Mirella (or Mirelle). There's a pattern in there somewhere! Haha.

i knew a girl named bliss. i bought a car off of her many moons ago and she completely screwed me over. i thought it was a really nice name until that, so yea, bad association.

I worked at a summer camp the past 4 years and i have heard some strange names...I had a little girl there whose name was Bliss and I love that name...I also had a camper in my cabin she is like 14 and her name is Anna Bliss...i like that too

Bliss is way too much as a first name for me. I think it'd be okay as a mn. It's very hippyish.

Summer Joy - Wanted to name a child Summer Joy forEVER and then I married a city-slicker. He hates it.
Joelle - Hispanic Joel is pronounces Joelle, so I think it sounds like a guy's name.
Natanya - NMS. I like natalia better.
Piper - Haha this was going to be my husband's name until his dad stepped in with Christopher!
Saleha - Don't like it. I like Selena though.
Sylvana - Sounds very russian figure-skater-esque. Don't like.

I read in an article about a girl named Bliss, her elder siblings had been born with a genetic problem but she was healthy. So her parents thought it suited.
Probably wouldn't use it myself, but can see the appeal.

I've always liked Bliss, and although I usually hate alternative spellings I think if I used it I would spell it Blyss... just to give it a little distance from the everyday word.
