[identity profile] partyofthree.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
My husband is on deployment and we are talking about making another baby when he gets back, he's been emailing me names like crazy. What do you think of
Riley Alexandra

I think I like it a lot.

Is that a typo and supposed to be Alexandra?

assuming its supposed to be alexandra, its nice. and the fact that you spelled riley in the most traditional, normal way possible, makes me want to just jump up and hug you.

I thought Reilly was the most traditional way, although I suppose I don't have anything much to base that on. Riley is nice and simple/straightforward

i guess i think of reilly as more of a last name spelling. but that might just be because i know people with that last name, and it looks wierd to me as a first name. riley looks much more like a first name, to me.

My first thought was "Is that for a boy or a girl?", but that's because I'm still stuck thinking of Riley as a boys name. Also assuming that it's Alexandra, not Alexadra, I do sort of like it. At least you're not going with Ryeleighy or something similar.

Seriously. Some variations I dont mind (Ryley, Rilee) but some people seriously take it overboard. There's a Rhyleigh in my math class. That's seriously a bit much.

I think Riley and every other variation is over done. Like Madison. Every other child you use to know would be Riley.

well, the reason you don't know them is because a lot of Riley's are like, 3 years old. When your (future) child hits kindergarten, you'll know loads.

Very cute
(if it is meant to be "Alexandra")

It's too common for my tastes, but it does go well with your son's name as a sibling name :)

hmmm... it's okay, Riley doesnt really fit in with my name list, it's a bit too trendy.
Maybe if i had two families... one with classic names (amelia etc..) and another one with more recent names Riley would be in there!
I like Alexandra. It sounds great with Riley.

I don't really like Riley or Alexandra, but that's just personal preference. I do agree with above posters though, props on the spellings of both!

My friend just had a son and named him Riley.

But yeah, the name isn't too bad.

Both names are lovely, but I'm not sure I like them as a combo.

Funny funny funny...I don't like either name but I like them as a combo! :)

I say TY to your husband too. When does he come home?

any chance you'd go for Alexandra Riley? Riley is terribly trendy and overused and IMO will not age very well at all. Alexandra is SO much classier, it's a really nice name.
