Okay.

Clotilde.

Is it horribly ugly?

Do you prefer Clotilde or Clothilde?

I heard it and something in me instantly attached to it, I don't know why. I love possible nicknames Chloe and Tilly. But I have the feeling it is probably really unattractive sounding to most people.

It looks cluttered! If you MUST use it then I'd suggest Clotilde. Are you French by any chance?

I don't despise it, but I'm never quite sure how it's pronounced. I like the spelling Clotilde better though.

I don't really like or dislike it. I prefer Clothilde over Clotilde because Clotilde looks unfinished to me.

It's nms but Clotilde is better imo, because it doesn't have the word "cloth" in it as the other spelling, which I think just opens it up for more teasing, than it might get.

And I would pronounced it ethnically, like my mother who is German would. "Cloe-til-de", de as in how the french say de. And I think Chloe would be an awesome nick name for it, and Tilly would work too. Even Tilde, like Tilda, could work.

Kids will tease for anything, even simple names, like Sarah. I know. I'm a Jennifer and even I had to deal with it. I just think that some names make it easier, and so I prefer to try to steer away from that as best as possible. :)

Unattractive sounding, unattractive looking. I don't like it at all. If I had to pick between the two, I'd probably go with Clotilde.

i don't really like it much - and not because it's foreign or ethnic - i just think it's not very attractive.

I don't like it, but I prefer Clothilde, and I don't like the nn Tilly because Clothilde sounds VERY French and Tilly doesn't - it's kind of mismatched in my book.

It sounds like a blood disorder or an embarrassing body part.

I don't really like how it ends up sounding in english.
In french, it makes more sense, although it's a still quite the great-grandma name.

But it's also the name of my bicycle.

I love it. One of the kids from an exchange I did to France was called Clothilde, and after seeing it used on an actual girl, I fell in love. Sometimes you just need to see a name working in real life to fall in love with it. I don't like the way it sounds when it's said all English-like though.

All I can think when I see it is "clitoris." *blush* Apparently I am dirty-minded?

I don't dislike it due to any foreign or 'ethnic' connotations--it's just not really my style. As an English speaker, it looks odd.

It makes me think of the old lady in El Chavo (). I'll never be able to hear this name without thinking of her.

It reminds me of The Three Incestuous Sisters. :) And I prefer the spelling with the h.
