jhen-vee-EV (ie. the French way...) actually the first syllable of that is really hard to convey because I don't know proper phonetics, but if you can imagine, it's the French pronunciation of "Jean"

zhawn-vee-ehv is one way of spelling it phonetically. :) The zh combined produces the sound like "J" in "Jacques."

Also, I agree with this pronunciation. I hate the way the American pronunciation sounds, but I believe the French form of the name includes an accented vowel.

The main way I've heard it in France is Jean-vee-ev like most of you. And the other way was Jean-eh-vee-ev, but the eh is very quick.
