babynamesI have a very close friend named Kathryn, but she goes by Katie and sometimes Kate. I would like to someday name my daughter after her, but I don't love the name Kathryn.
Do you have any ideas for other names that Katie/Kate could come out of? I thought for a while of Katrien, which is the Dutch form of Katherine. Do you think that'd be too weird considering I'm not Dutch? :) I absolutely love Katelyn but because of its popularity, I'm not incredibly keen on it.
I'd like to have a long first name so she has the option of going by something other than the nickname, but do you think it's possible to use Katie alone as a first name? Can you think of any middle names that go well with Katie?
