I am new to the community. My husband and I have been married almost 6 years are and planning to TTC in 2010 (we're both in grad school right now). I am starting to think about names - my rule is that I want something that will suit my child his or her whole life - something that will sound good when he/she is little, as well as when they are 40. Hubby and I have been throwing around a few names, but he will only humor my name obsession up to a point - which is why I am here.
Here are my top choices. I'd love feedback on them (ones that you love or hate), as well as any additional suggestions that seem to be of a similar style. I'd also love middle name suggestions - I have a few but not too many.

Anna Sue - so plain and boring to me.
Harper - cute.
Eleanor - pretty name but just too old lady.
Sophia - pretty but really popular.
Claire - okay.
Sadie - dog's name.
Lydia - ok.
Rosemary - too old lady.
Phoebe - friends?
Lauren - love. =)
Hannah - nice but not my style.
Leah - pretty.
Evelyn - too old lady for me.
Grace - pretty. simple.
Chelsea - don't like. seems snobby.
Paula - don't like...
Vivienne - I had a hard time decided between Vivian and Vivienne for my daughter's name... finally decided Vivian, though. =)
Natasha - don't like. bad associations. Natalie?
BOYS
Joseph - bad associations and not big on j names.
Jacob - alright.
Joshua - my brother's name... so uh... yeah. haha.
Luke - love. It's on my list but honestly, it seems like a nickname name. I don't like Lucas much... and I don't know of anything else it could be short for.
Paul - like.
Michael - like. good associations, too. =)
Jonah - like.
Seth - like.
Noah - don't like. way too popular for me right now. and too bibilical.
Isaac - it's actually a nice name. but i spell it wrong constantly.
