Sorry if this has been discussed; I only joined this community a month or so ago.

Anyways, what are people's thoughts on Gwyneth Paltrow choosing the name "Apple" for her daughter?

Everyone I've talked to hates it. I however think it's really cute and unique.

The people I've talked to say it'll be cute until she's like 5. They do have a good point: I realize it is weird for a 16 year old to be named Apple.

Do people here like it? Hate it?

as I am french ,the sound ' apple' is very sweet to my ear,but I dont think it s a good name because it makes me think of computer stuff???this is weird indeed!
apple means 'pomme' in french and I have only met one girl in my life with such a name and I hardly believed her it was her name!!!

Demi Moore and Bruce Willis's daughter Scout was named after Scout Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird, one of the greatest American novels of all time! It was done as an honor.

Actually, I knew that, but that child will be mocked for life. Trust me on weird baby names, I got one myself, and I'll never ever wanna do that to my own children.

I think it's cute and all, for now... but like you said, imagine her as a teenager, and as an adult- what kind of name would that be? Not respectful- maybe she'll be a movie star like her mom and it won't be so bad. I can't imagine meeting a lawyer named Apple, or my doctor though. And then as an old lady in a nursing home? Gee whiz!

i think its really wierd and probably not such a great choice.. i mean who really names their kid after a fruit? and what kid wouldnt hate their parents for giving them that name... i think unique names are cool but to an extent.

I think Apple is a horrible name. I hope she has a decent middle name that she can use instead! I would never name my child after a fruit. the poor girl will probably be made fun of alot.

I'm pretty neutral on Apple, I think you'd have to have a certain personality and outlook on life to really have that as your name. I think it fits her parents style more than anything, who knows how she could turn out as a person. :)

i'm convinced that they are telling the press her name is apple when in reality it's something more on the normal side. kind of a way to keep her anonymity.
