Opinions on Jubilee and Eulalia/Eulalie, please. Also, any suggestions for middle names would be great.

As an edit, I would like opinions on the following name combinations:

Jubilee Gaia
Eulalia Simone

Jubilee makes me think of X-Men, which is not necessarily a bad thing...

I'm kinda struggling with how to pronounce Eulalia/Eulalie... any help?

J & E

Ay-oo-la-lee-uh with the first syllable like "hay" or "hey" is how I've heard it.

Those names are a serious mouthful. I would refrain from middle names in this case.

What nicknames are you thinking about?

Thanks ;)
I agree on the middle names thing... these two would be hard to pair with anything else.
As for nicknames... Jubes sounds like pubes, so maybe Billy or just Lee? Eulalia... I'm stumped!

Eulie or Lalie would def work for nicknames, especially since Eulalia is such a tongue-twister... I literally spent five minutes trying to sound out the pronunciation you provided ;)

Lee and Lally is too much. Lally is the nn I've heard for Eulalia-- which by the way I had to practice about 15 times before I could say it and even now, I'm going syllable by syllable to pronounce it in my head, not even out loud.

Jubilee? Don't know.

I'm interested in where these names are coming from. There's got to be some information we're missing here.

Eulalia

I respect that and appreciate your story, but I must say that there is great irony in having a name-- which is harder to pronounce than almost any I have ever come across-- mean "well spoken". You are going to find that very few English speakers will be able to say it, even the well-intentioned.

And do you really want a name with such a dignified meaning to be shortened to Lally or Ulie? Seems counter-intuitive.

Congratulations on your little one's anticipated arrival.

Agree with you on Jubilee. And Eulalia is a bit too nineteenth century-like for me.

LOL!

Anyway, I forgot to add my suggestions of middle names.

Jubilee... Anna. Marcia. Carla. Faye.

As for Eulalia... well, it's a rather long name, so I'd go for a shorter middle name, such as Jane. I know it's kind of a filler name, but sounds nice. Simone comes to mind, too.

I like Eulalia because the spelling seems really... romantic? Maybe I'm dumb, idk... but trying to pronounce it is giving me some problems lol... I think I need to hear it irl.

It wasn't a suggestion, lol. It's jubilees from x-men real name.

if i am pronouncing them right, eulalia and eulalie remind me of ukeles (like those mini guitars popular in hawaii and labias. not a fan. and jubilee isn't a name to me, it's a word for party.

I'm not a fan of any of those, really, but if I had to pick I'd go with Eulalia over Eulalie. I seriously HATE rhyming twin names.

These names sound like steroetypical "quirky, southern girl" names you'd find in books like Fried Green Tomatoes and Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood.

I love Eulalia pronounced you-lay-lee-uh. Jubilee is a grocery store, so I think it's terrible. It's like naming a kid Piggly Wiggly.

I really like Eulalia over Eulalie, and I think that Jubilee could grow on me... I would definitely go for shorter middle names, since both names are long and fancy sounding. Marie, Anna, Jane, that sort of name.

Too matchy/ sing-songy.
I really like Jubilee, but I think most english-speakers would have a terribile time pronouncing Eulalie/a.

In italian, it would be Ay-oo-LAH-lee-ah, so that could help avoiding the rhyming names, but Euh-lah-LEE wouldn't work at all, imo.

NMS but not terrible. Julie and Layla would be cute nicknames.

Jubilee Eleanor
Jubilee Rachel
Jubilee Rain or Reign
Jubilee Sapphira
Jubilee Victoria

On thinkbabynames.com, it says that Eulalia is pronounced yoo-LAY-lee-AH, which I think is the best pronunciation, and the one I would go with, and the one I'll use with the middle name suggestion. The site also gives the alternate spelling of Eulaylia, which I think would be best, considering the pronunciation.

I know one would think a shorter middle name would work best because it's such a long name for a first name, but I think it sounds better paired with names of 2 or more syllables.
Suggestions:
Eulaylia Ann
Eulaylia Angelique
Eulaylia Christiauna
Eulyalia Gabriella
Eulaylia Marigold
Eulaylia Nikoletta
Eulaylia Violetta
Eulyalia Wilomena

And I know you didn't ask for nick name suggestions, but I thought I'd offer mine.

For Jubilee, I suggest Ulee - "YOU-lee"
For Eulaylia, I suggest Laya -"LAY-uh".

I'm not a fan of the names, but given the choices for the second child, I'd pick Eulalia over Eulalie. As far as nicknames are concerned, Julie might work as a nickname for Jubilee. Maybe? I could be wrong. Laila or Layla would be a cute nickname for Eulalia/Eulalie.

I don't think the middle names given above fit very well with the first names. You're better off with single-syllable, slightly more common middle names, in my opinion.

I'm happy you liked Eulalia Simone! And Jubilee Gaia sounds very nice and balanced.

You know what? They made one really cool sibset, especially after you explained your reasons for the names.

When are you due, if you don't mind me asking?

Jubilee just sounds weird to me. I know a couple who have a daughter named Jubilee and it just... I don't know. I've never liked it.
