I'm not pregnant yet...not even trying at the moment but my husband and I were discussing names last night. We have another boy name already picked so that's not a problem. But. we'd like to name our next girl (if we have another girl) after my parents and a really good friend of the family.
The problem is that my parents have horrible names! My mom is Cheryl Jean, my dad is Hermon Lee. So I was thinking Janelle-a combination of the letters from their middle names. And the friend of the family is Elizabeth. Neither of us like Elizabeth that much, so we were thinking Eliza...of course we could use Elizabeth and Eliza as a nn.

so my question is which combination sounds best? or do you have other suggestions using these names?
oh, and the kids i have now are Tristan and Skye..so we'd like a combo that sounds ok with the other kids.

How about Hermiajean ;)

You know, like Hermione from Harry Potter.

Okay, that was a lame joke :P

I like Eliza Janelle better. It flows better than Janelle Eliza, and also, with your other kids' names not being that common, you probably wouldn't want such a common name as Janelle, you know? Eliza just seems to fit better with their names. Besides, I think it's adorable :)

Eliza's nice. I'm not a huge fan of Janelle, but it's all right - although I think it's a stretch to say that it's in honour of your parents.

i'm not in love with the name janelle, but that's neat it comes out of the letters in your parents middle names. although, you're missing one l from their names. ;)

i don't know if you're open to more ideas from your parents names, but jean is a variant of the name jane. cheryl comes from the name cherie. it's a little of a stretch, but harmony could come from hermon... maybe, haha. and a take off of lee, there's always leigh, leah, lela, leann, and lena. i really like the name elizabeth, and you could always use the nn liza pronounced like lyssa or lizza... depending on how you pronounce elizabeth, or liza could be pronounced lie-zuh.

anyway, i think your ideas are fine, but i thought i'd throw those out there! some of the ones i suggested probably won't match with tristan and skye.

I think Eliza is absolutely stunning--I'd use it as a first name for sure. I don't particularly like Janelle; maybe you could use versions of your parents' names, like Leigh.

Elizabeth can also be Elise and Lisa as full names... and Liz, Lizzie, Betty, Beth, Libby, Ellie, etc (tons more)...... as nicknames

I don't like the name Janelle, but if you do I think janelle elizabeth sounds cute. As a MN, Elizabeth is infallible.

I don't like Janelle at all, I'd probably use it for a middle name. However i do like Elle.. so maybe i'd use that instead!
Strangely enough, Isabel is also a form of Elizabeth, spell it Isabelle (my favourite spelling anyway) & you've got a winner! Form of Elizabeth & elle in there...(did i just go way over the top lol)

Isabelle Jean?

I say go with Eliza Janelle. Eliza is a favorite of mine, it flows well IMO, and both are pretty names :)

I love the name Eliza so I think that you should use it as a name in it's own right, and as a fist name.
