My husband and I haven't exactly planned when we're going to have babies, but I have names ready. (Psh, in this community, who doesn't?! haha)

For girls I like:

Marleen ______ - called Marley.
This is a combo of my grandma who raised me (Marie) and his mother, who is super important to me (Kathleen). I have no idea about a middle name, because the only thing I like would be discussed in twenty years on livejournal as "CAN YOU BELIEVE MY PARENTS NAMED ME MARLEEN WINTER GREEN?! UGH I HATE THEM." Hahahaha.

Sierra Louise
I love the name Sierra. We have a lot of coincidences in our life, and one of them is this name. He lived off Sierra when I met him, and for quite a while, I would listen to "Sierra" by Cursive to go to sleep. Louise just flows fairly well. Kinda a nod to my own namesake, Anna Lou.

Lena Mae
Honestly, I just like Lena from The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. She was defintely my favorite character, and I love Alexis Bledel. Mae, I'm not really sure about, it's the only thing I could think of without reverting to Marie.

I'm not quite so big on boys names, but I do like Jack and Leland.

Any suggestions for middle names? I have a while to sit on this, but anything would be nice. :D

I love Sierra Louise! Marleen is pretty and its nice...I'm just biased against it, but it is a lovely name. Lena Mae...mmm yeah I like that :)

I'd stay away from anything that includes "Winter Green" though ;)

I like Marleen, but would you consider spelling it Marlene? I know it's partially after a Kathleen, but your daughter would have to deal with the mispelling all the time if she were a Marleen.

I like Lena, though not with Mae.

Hopefully she would continue to go by Marley in her old age and there would be less confusion or need for spelling her full name. But I could always change my mind before we have kids.

wait... your last name is green and you want to name your unborn marleen? that's just, well, mean. rhyming names are a general no-no for me.

also, i would spell 'marley' as 'marlie'. marlie is a friend of mine, marley is the ghost in a christmas carol. but that might just be me.

for the boy names, i like them both, but jack is super common right now. i'd go with leland because it's a little different and easily shortened to lee.

I don't think it's as mean as some names. It's also not as noticeable. We would also be calling her Marley, thus eliminating the rhyming idea. I still prefer Marley.

To me, Sierra is a song- "In the desert, where the cities are made of gold,
there's a girl playing hopscotch with pink ribbon pigtails"- so we defintely have different views.

I don't know why but the name Sierra Jasmine just popped into my head and I think it's really pretty.
I love how Marleen and Sierra both have significance for you. Marleen is really pretty actually, and Marley is a great nickname.

I like Sierra Jasmine! But I have two nieces named Jazmine/Jazmyne. I think if there was another Jasmine in my family, my mom would disown us all, haha.
