What do you think of the name Marley for a little girl?

I think it's cute. To me it sounds like a girls name. My friend's sister named her son Marley recently and it took me a while to realize Marley wasn't a girl. lol

This 100%.

Also, I think of a big ol' yellow lab, or Owen Wilson.

It's nms, and I don't think it works well on a girl, nor will it age well.

I like it, but I would never use it.

I used to always automatically think of Marley Shelton, and she's like, mid-thirties now, so I don't have an issue about it aging well. But now I always think of the dog. I like the name though.

Bob and the dog completely ruined it for me before I ever had a chance to like it

It reminds me too much of Bob Marley and Marley the dog.

I hate the name Marley so much. It is probably #1 on my least favorite names. (Sorry!) Plus, with all the publicity around Marley and Me, I totally think of it as a dog's name. (And stoners, and the ghost of Jacob Marley from A Christmas Carol.) None of those are great mental images. :\

I think it's really pretty ... and coming from me, that's saying something, since I went to school with a girl named this who I didn't like hehe.

"I Am Legend" was on TV last night. I think the name is really cute, but there is also the potential to grow into it. Your daughter would have to be pretty badass and strong for it to work right. Maybe a poet.

I like it, but that's because I've considered using it spelled Marlee, after my grandmas/me- Margaret, my fiance's mother- Marlene, and my Mom's middle name- Lee. My best friend's middle name is also Leigh.

It sounds like a dog's name, and I honestly could not see it working on anyone over the age of 10. A little girl named Marley - okay. A 40-year-old woman named Marley? Kind of ridiculous.

i have a friend named marleigh. (her middle name is jaye) i like the name, but that spelling reminds me of a dog of a family friend (haha, not from the book/movie) and bob. it's pretty, but for people, i can only see it being spelled marleigh. ")

I think it is cute... and with a super girlie middle name it can be adorable.

I like it better for a cat or a dog.
I agree with the person/people who said it doesn't age well.

it's cute, but it's what i named my cat, so i can't see it on a person at all.

i think it would be an AODRABLE nickname, though maybe for margaret/maureen/maura/marion/martine/etc.

Its cute, but I wouldn't use it because my sister has a dog with that name.

My sister has a dog named Reggae, Song of Jamaica. Her mother was named Jamaica (I don't know the full name). Reggae has a son Marley.

My sister in law has an annoying black lab puppy named that, so I'm not a fan. But before she got the dog, I thought it was so damn cute =]
