I think it's cute. To me it sounds like a girls name. My friend's sister named her son Marley recently and it took me a while to realize Marley wasn't a girl. lol
I used to always automatically think of Marley Shelton, and she's like, mid-thirties now, so I don't have an issue about it aging well. But now I always think of the dog. I like the name though.
I hate the name Marley so much. It is probably #1 on my least favorite names. (Sorry!) Plus, with all the publicity around Marley and Me, I totally think of it as a dog's name. (And stoners, and the ghost of Jacob Marley from A Christmas Carol.) None of those are great mental images. :\
"I Am Legend" was on TV last night. I think the name is really cute, but there is also the potential to grow into it. Your daughter would have to be pretty badass and strong for it to work right. Maybe a poet.
I like it, but that's because I've considered using it spelled Marlee, after my grandmas/me- Margaret, my fiance's mother- Marlene, and my Mom's middle name- Lee. My best friend's middle name is also Leigh.
It sounds like a dog's name, and I honestly could not see it working on anyone over the age of 10. A little girl named Marley - okay. A 40-year-old woman named Marley? Kind of ridiculous.
i have a friend named marleigh. (her middle name is jaye) i like the name, but that spelling reminds me of a dog of a family friend (haha, not from the book/movie) and bob. it's pretty, but for people, i can only see it being spelled marleigh. ")
