Need help with a middle name...

Hi everyone,

I am 17 1/2 weeks pregnant and just found out that my husband and I are having a lovely little girl! We have a first name, but we're stumped on a middle name.

Her name will be Lyra _____ Olson-Bell. Can anyone suggest a middle name?

I would go with something really simple:

Lyra Jane Olson-Bell
Lyra Kate Olson-Bell
Lyra Mae Olson-Bell

I think something short, sweet, and to the point (ie, one syllable) is probably your best bet.

Lyra is the name of the heroine in a trilogy of books called His Dark Materials (The Golden Compass was the first book and was made into a crappy movie version last year), and my husband and I are huge fans. Lyra is smart, courageous, loyal and clever, and we figured if our little girl inherited even a few of those traits, she'd be pretty blessed. :) Plus it's a gorgeous name all by itself!

I really like the name Lyra.

I like the sound of Lyra Sophia but I think it looks better spelled Sofia somehow - Lyra Sofia Olson-Bell looks sweet and kind of exotic at the same time.
