Aislyn Noelle or Aislyn Nicole.

I like both combinations, but I'm worried "Aislyn" doesn't age well. Is that the case? Could you see an adult woman named Aislyn?

Also, any other middle name suggestions for Aislyn, cause lol if I marry a man whose last name starts with D.

I think it would be beautiful on a grown woman.

I like Alison soooo much better that Aislyn - which just looks like Asslyn to me, sorry. I also don't think Aislyn will age well...

Of the two middle names I like Noelle a lot more.

How do you pronounce it?

I read it as "AYS-lin"

This is another issue with this name. There is a little girl at my church named Aislynn and no one pronounces it the same way:
Ash-line
Ash-lynn
Eyes-lin
Ice-lin
Ace-lin
And of course half the people just call her Ashley
Etc...

It's pronounced Ashling but can be pronounced eye-shleen.

Ashling,
Aislin,
Aislinn "ash + ling"
From aislinge which means "a vision" or "a dream," Aisling is the name given to a popular poetic genre from the 17th and 18th centuries in which Ireland is personified as a beautiful woman in peril.
A very popular name in Ireland now.

i think aislin looks a lot more serious than aislyn, but it still has a childish sound to it imo. my name is ashley, i'm 20 now but i still can't even imagine having a serious career with this name and i so wish my mother had not gone the trendy route.

and personally i'm not a fan of noelle or nicole as a middle name, i think they both work for ashley (my middle name is nicole) but the double n bothers me, like it sounds like aislyn-oelle or aislyn-icole.

i'd go with noelle though, nicole is such an obvious filler name now.

on one hand i feel like michelle might be weird because of the double "sh" sound, but on the other i really like it anyway and it looks nice written out. idk a lot of people think michelle is dated i guess but i've always thought it was really pretty.

TBH I do not see it aging well at all. Seems very trendy and like it would be dated 20 years down the road.

But of the two I like Aislyn Noelle much better.

Honestly, no. It looks very trendy, because it's an Irish name (and a modern one at that, I'm fairly sure that Aisling wasn't used as a name until the 20th century), and then with the 'lyn' ending. I would spell it 'Aisling' or just not use it at all. There's also going to be a major issue with pronunciation.

My names Ashley Noelle =] & I know about 22 Ashley Nicole's. So my vote is obvious.

Oh I personally have Aislinn on my baby name list, allthough I probably wouldn't use it since it's close to mine. I love it though.

I don't think Aislyn ages well at all. I don't think it fits in now. People are going to have a horrendous time trying to pronounce it correctly. I'd consider other, similar names like Ainsley, Addison, Allison, etc. Ashley would be way too common. But Ainsley Nicole sounds nice.

I don't think Aislyn ages well. There's also the pronounciation problem..

I have no beef with Noelle or Nicole... it's the Aislyn that makes me shudder.

There was a girl in my high school named Aisling and everyone called her Ays-ling as a joke even though they knew how it was pronounced. So even though I know it's pronounced Ash-lyn she'll probably get some crap for the pronunciation. That being said, I don't really think it would age well either, knowing all the Ashlynn's, Ashlyn's, etc running around and those spellings look really trendy and girl-ish.

I don't see a problem with it as a name for an adult, but I'm another who prefers the spelling Aisling. Aislyn looks made-up and "trendy" to me.

Sorry - I didn't mean to imply that you'd made it up! Just that it looks funny to me because I first saw the word in an Irish context where it's spelt differently.

Aislyn Noelle is far better than Aislyn Nicole, IMHO.

Yes, I can see an adult woman. As for an old fart, not so much, but that's OK, becaus she'll be in an old folks home with a bunch of people named (Letter of your choice here)-ayden and other such nonsense :D
