So we found out today that we are having a baby boy. (Well, pretty sure anyway.) My husband is pushing for the name Tristan Vaughn. Whatcha think?

Also, for some reason he thinks it'd be super cool to spell Vaughn V-A-N. I'm not so keen on it..

edit: Our last name is one syllable and also ends with an N, so thats another thing to consider with Vaughn/Van as a middle name

I think that middle name just depends on the last name.

my son is tristan so i love it! :)
I don't pronounce Vaughn and Van the same way...so my vote is for Vaughn.

I agree with the pronunciation. Vaughn is more Von.

i like tristan a lot. but tristan vaughn is awfully asexual/unisex/whatever for my liking. i would pair tristan with something else.

also? van =/= vaughn.

I'm not so keen on Vaughn as Van because they're really not the same names. Not really pronounced the same. So, if he likes Vaughn, he should spell it Vaughn. If he wants to spell it Van, he should use the name Van.

That's a whole lot of ending with N for my taste, I think. A really repetitive name. Tristan Vaughn is nice, I think, but if I wouldn't use it with a last name that ends the same.

I love both Van and Vaughn (although I don't pronounce them the same way). We are having a boy also and both of those names are/were on my list but the bf vetoed them :/

Tristan Vaughn seems slightly unisex, but I like it. Van =/= Vaughn to me at all, so if you want the name to be Vaughn, I'd spell it that way.

Don't like Tristan, love Vaughn. Van is totally a totally different name.

I think TristaNNN VaughNNN NNNxxxx might be a little much.

Idk, to me Tristan is really feminine. I have a nephew name Tristan. but I think anything ending in "istin" is girly.

I've also seen it spelled Vaughan. A Van is something you drive.

Tristan Vaughn is okay, Tristan Van not so much.

I pronounce Vaughn differently than Van. "Vaughn" rhymes with "fawn" (like a baby deer?), and "Van" is pronounced like the thing you drive.

I think Tristan Vaughn sounds better than Tristan Van.

I love both Vaughn and Van, but if it's Vaughn, it really shouldn't be spelled V-A-N.

I had a great-grandfather named VAN (as in, a vehicle) and a friend named Vaughn (pronounced "von")

I like Tristan, but Tristan Vaughn sounds a little weird, like people might think he's super Dutch or something :P

I like Tristan Vaughn--that spelling. Though with the last name also ending in N, it might be a bit much.
