it's the name of my friend's husband, and I've never thought of anything wrong with it. People see Rusty as a legit name, so Rustin should be no different, IMO.

In all honesty I didn't think it was the worst thing possible until I thought of it as slang for "rusting". Otherwise, I think I might like it!
