What do you think of the name Louton on a boy, for either first or middle name? It's my great grandmothers maiden name, and she is one of the very few members of the family I would consider honoring.

I'm not good with phonetics but my grandmother pronounces it something like LOOt-en, although I'm sure theres some kind of French pronounciation to it as well, which I wouldn't want to use.

When I read it, I figured it rhymed with crouton. :/ I don't really dig it, but I always like when people honor family members. I think it'd be best as a middle name.

I think it would be great as a middle name. Though I have to admit I prefer the French pronunciation (that's what came to mind as soon as I read the name).

It doesn't really strike me as a name on first sight.
If it's pronounced Looten, then it's horrible IMO.
If it rhymes with crouton, it's even worse.

I like it a lot as a middle name, and it's honoring your family - so I'd go for it and not worry about what other people think.

Oh! Lu Ten! Forgive me; I'm an Avatard. ^_^;; I don't like the name, especially with that spelling. To me, it looks like 'lootin'. As in, "They were lootin' that store across the street."
