Addie?

I like the nickname Addie somewhat, and started to think of what the full name would be. Adaire is the name on the top of my girls list, but I think calling her Adaire would work just as well as Addie. (It annoys me when names HAVE to have a NM..) I also thought of Addison.

Is this a name that can be boy or girl, or do  you think of it as specifically one gender?

I see Addie as purely feminine, Adaire as either, and Addison as kind of feminine.

I love Adaire as a name.

I like Adele nn Addie for a girl.

For a boy, I only like Addison (and I hate this name on a girl).

Addie seems very feminine to me. That's not to say that it could never work on a boy, but it does seem very feminine. I really dislike Addison, but here are some other names that you could get 'Addie' from:

Adele
Adela
Adeline
Adelina
Adelaide
Adora
Ada
Adamina
Adrianna
Adrienne

For boys:

Adam
Adrian
Adair

This list is pretty similar to what I was thinking. I think of Addison as a girl's name. I like Adelle, Ada, Adaire, Adrienne, Adrianna... for boys I don't dig the NN Addie so much, but I do like Adam and Adrian which it could work for. I think Addie could be a NN for Aiden too probably.

addie semes extremely feminine to me. i think addison is more of a girl's name, but it works for boys too in my opinion. my cousin's name is adeline, and she goes by addie.

I can see Addie on either gender, but Addison is purely masculine to me.

Adelaide is my favorite girl's name, and Addie would be a nickname of that. Technically, Addison was/is a boy's name, but I personally think more people would associate it with female now, possibly because of Grey's Anatomy.
