Oscar's gonna have a buddy in september!! his buddy needs a NAME!!

Hi everyone,

I am currently pregnant with #2, we weren't expecting this at all, but i mean, who is??  anyway, i have a son Oscar Owen B.  he was going to be our only kid.  we didn't want anymore.  i got pregnant with my IUD in.  yes, i was that 0.1%.

anyway, my SO and i are trying to come up with names that go with oscar, and we have a lot of time to go (i'm nine weeks along) but we just can't seem to agree on ANYTHING.

my SO really likes Matilda but i'm not to keen on it, seems like, with celebrity baby status and all that it might become a bit trendy, but i could be way way wrong, i'm just super picky right now.

anyway, do you have any suggestions of a girl and/or boy's name that goes with Oscar Owen (my last name) B.??  i would like to bring more suggestions to the table too!!  especially since my SO scared the beejesus out of me last night by ALSO suggesting Paisley.

Oh man, this is going to be a long seven more months!!

First of all, icon love! <3

I'm struggling with names for my bump too, for the same reasons pretty much. I love Oscar Owen though, that's a great name :) x

I do think Matilda is a really pretty name despite the celebrity baby status.

I hope you quickly squashed Paisley. That name is not good.

Good. It's a bad name, but the Paisley Panties make me laugh... hard.

See, I like Oscar. It's cute and different.

I'd love to hear some of these if you remember. I could use a good chuckle.

That's okay! Take your time. :)

Sorry to be a pain. I just love hearing the names people come up with.

I'm not a big fan of Matilda. It's one of those names that I just associate with a bigger, scary kind of woman in my mind, like Helga (like on American Gladiators), I think in part because I know it means "battle mighty". I do like a lot of old-er fashioned names though.

Madeline comes to mind for an M name. Pamela for a P name, if your SO likes that about Paisley, or Paige or Priscilla... or if he/you like the "lee" sound at the end of Paisley at all there's a ton of names that end in that sound. Hmm what else...

Part of me just wants to be a smarta** and say Anthony, so you'd have Oscar and Tony awards. :)

I actually know a set of siblings named Oscar, Antonio "Tony" and Emmy. Apparently Oscar and Tony were done unknowingly, and then when the parents realized it they decided to name their next child Emmy if it was a girl (which it was). I always thought it was funny.

Well, if you're going to have a theme, this is a very good one!

Oscar is my top boys name. If I ever have two sons I would name them Oscar and Felix. Or Oscar and Elodie for a boy and a girl.
