[identity profile] aislincalum.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames

My lovely co-worker is pregnant with her second child (11 weeks, at the moment) and has already picked out one name for each possible gender.  I was just curious what you all think.  This baby will be sibling to older sister, Harleen.

Girl: Sanjanai  (sahn-JA-nye)
Boy: Naveen (NA-veen)

Comments?  Suggestions?

Is this person of any particular ethnic background? or do they just like ethnic sounding names?

Well then the names fit that ethnicity quite well actually.

I don't care for Harleen, but I like Sanjanai and Naveen, especially Naveen. The only downside with that is that it rhymes with Harleen. I'm not big on rhyming sibsets.

I agree. I'm not a big fan of any of the names, but I don't know a lot about Indian names/culture so I'm not really judging them, I just don't like the rhyming.

I like Sanjani, it's very pretty, do you know the meaning?

Naveen isn't actually that bad of a name, but Harleen and Naveen would be an awful sibset. Way, way too rhyming.

I like her ideas for the second child, especially Sanjanai.

I don't understand much about Indian names, but they sound nice to me. I even like Naveen with Harleen, and I don't ususally like maching sets.

Now, though I like Harleen, it's a name I'd never give to a daughter of mine. Reminds me too much of Harley Quinn. :)

I like Naveed for a boy a lot. The -een sound, not a fan.
