[Poll #1350351]

I thought I'd decided on my boys name but today I discovered this one.

Pronounced: TOR-in, although I think I prefer a short 'o' sound.
Origin: Gaelic
Means: Chief or thunder.

Thoughts?

I like how it looks, but it's only okay on my ears. I don't know though... Maybe if I heard it more I'd like it more.

It's just me, but I love Gaelic based names and this sounds like the Romanian Sorin name, only with a cooler meaning. Talon/Talyn is common so Torin isn't that strange and it's not spelled weird. So I say it's a kewl name.

I like how it looks written down, but I don't like saying it out loud for some reason.

There's a woman in my daughter's birth community who had a son named Toren (I think that's how she spelled it). His older Sister's name is Story :) I think both names are super cute!

Eh, it looks too trendy for me to take it seriously. =\ Plus, it sounds too much like "torn," and by the time the child reaches puberty, that implication might hang over his head.
