I've always loved the name Kerensa and there's no doubt I'll be having a Taurus baby (due early May) so I thought the name Kerensa would be quite apt as it means "love" and/or "affection" and Taurus children are said to be very affectionate and love hugs and kisses. Marie is my mother-in-laws middle name so I can't change that.

I still don't know what I'm having as they couldn't tell at 20 week scan. Our boy's name has already been decided.

So what do you think?

It's definitely not made up. Quick google search will show you it's a very old name.

Kerensa looks awkward and trendy to me, and I even live in Cornwall. At least it's better than all the Maisie/Daisie/Millie full first names British ladies seem to be giving their daughters now.

I think it's too similar to credenza. I also think you're having a girl, so really think about this name. I hope you have some alternatives you love just as much, in case you change your mind after. Congratulations on your baby! :)

I have a slight preference for the spelling Carenza, since that's the one I am more familiar with, but I really like the sound and meaning of the name. Not crazy about Marie, but it's fine and I quite like the idea of honouring valued family members in middle names.
