I immediately thought LOTR as well, but had someone told me the name Elessar back in 2002, I'd have had no clue that's where it came from. Not everyone will know the link.

Maybe it's my love of Aragorn, maybe not, but I like the name.
ETA: I know a 4 year old named Arwen. I totally freaked out in geek-excitement when I first learned her name, and I still think it's cool.
