Well, I dislike both. I don't like the sound of Gianna for some reason although I appreciate that it is a legitimate name, and Kaiya (I would spell it Kaia or Kaya) I don't think ages well, and I think its too close to Caden. So...I guess I like Gianna better? Good luck choosing, sorry about the cousin stealing your name!

I like Gianna slightly better, but Kaiya is pretty nice (I would probably spell it Kaia though).

I like Gianna, and I also like Kaia spelled this way. I like Gianna just a little more, but since your cousin already used that name, it would be kind of confusing to name your kid Gianna as well.
I think it's really odd that she named her child that, after you told her about it. I would be pretty annoyed! ;) Then again, there's not much you can do...after all, she can pick whatever name she likes.

As for Gianna and Kaiya spelled this way, I definitely prefer Gianna.

Kaiya's a bit too trendy, especially with that spelling. And if you already have a son named Caden, do you really want them both to start with that Kai- sound? Unless you're pronouncing it Ky-ya or Key-ya, or something.

But then Gianna's kind of unusuable now that your cousin stole it. Ahh, and it's such a pretty name.

Another vote for Kaia. I don't really understand Kaiya. It makes me want to say kai-YA! Like "hai-YA" when you're breaking a wooden board with a karate chop or something.

Gianna really doesn't do anything for me. It seems very Italian and I have no Italian blood, so maybe that's why.

Gianna. Kaiya looks made up, and it's way too close to Caden.

I don't really like any... maybe Giulianna? It's close enough to the name you wanted, but it allows pretty different nicknames.

Kaiya is too close to Caden, in my opinion. Bit too matchy for me. Are you looking for an Italian name, does that matter for you?

Because the pronunciation of the first syllable is similar (well, at least when I pronounce it, maybe I'm doing it wrong).

Anyway, if you like Italian names (so do I, by the way), try www.behindthename.com, or www.20000-names.com, they have lists of Italian names. It could give you some nice ideas.

I know people get upset about this stuff like people "stole" their name, but I really can't understand it. My son has a cousin with his same name and a girl cousin with a female version of the name and the same nickname. I think they feel special sharing something with their family. (My son is Eliyahu Dovid, his cousin is Eliyahu and the other cousin is Elisheva, but they are all called Eli - rhymes with belly). If this new baby is a girl she'll probably have a name similar to my sister's baby, because my sister named her daughter for our grandmother and I want my baby to carry on that name too.

My husband's cousin has a little one named Kyah. I can't see the name aging well... it's just so... three year old girl-ish to me.

Gianna is getting popular now, too? Crap! First Aidan, and now I see a lot of Gabriels poppng up (though I'll use it no matter what) and now one of the few girl names I like are appearing everywhere.
