Date: 2009-02-03 10:35 pm (UTC)Also looked it up on BehingTheName.com and according to the popularity (http://www.behindthename.com/top/search.php?terms=saige) she is not the only one (but it was a user-submitted name).

Date: 2009-02-03 11:00 pm (UTC)Indeed I happen to be a girl; but honestly I think it's truly unisex, considering both aspects of the meaning and of the other Sages I know the gender split is pretty even.
I really dislike Saige though; feels too trendy and removed from the original name. Still sounds the same, and people will probably just spell it like the herb anyway, so can't see the point.

Date: 2009-02-03 11:51 pm (UTC)but i really dislike saige. sage is already a word, spelling it saige would just mean the kid has to correct others. plus it looks like it wants to be paige.

Date: 2009-02-04 01:27 am (UTC)I do not consider Sage to be unisex. For me, it is a boy name and a boy name only. My second favourite boy name, actually.

Date: 2009-02-05 03:28 am (UTC)But it's probably because I've seen those as name since I was little, and I've never actually heard someone suggest Sage as a name before.
