I just saw some twins on flickr. At first I thought it was two boys Cooper Thomas and Hadley Owen.

Except Hadley Owen is a girl! Is it just me or is this a really masculine name? I think Hadley could potentially be paired with something feminine ie Hadley Rose. But Hadley Owen, just really sounds like a boy.

owen would throw me off, but hadley is definitely a girls name to me. and it isn't totally uncommon for girls to have masculine middle names so i would assume right off the bat it was a girl.

I assumed it was a girl too, I've never heard Hadley on a boy before.

Also, I really like Cooper Thomas.

The only Hadleys I've ever heard of have all been girls, so I still thought it was a girl, but having a boy's middle name makes it sound, to me, as though the parents were intentionally trying to make the name sound masculine. (Like they set out to find a boy's name to use, as opposed to happening to like a boy's name on a girl, if that makes sense).

I generally don't like boy's names on girls, but if you're going to use them I much prefer them paired with obviously female names, like Morgan Rose.

Yuck, Hadley is the name of the scary town next to ours, so for me it is really more of a dog's name. If used on a person, I see it as blandly unisex but the Owen would definitely have me thinking boy.

That is a truly terrible name for a girl. :\

Hadley is a girl's name to me, absolutely. Owen is definitely masculine.

I've only ever heard Hadley as a last name, but I think it sounds masculine. I like it as a girl's name, but I agree, pairing it with Owen really sounds like a boy's name.

Michelle Branch has a daughter named Owen. I just naturally assumed that Hadley Owen was a boy, but it doesn't really surprise me that it's not. Hadley's ugly on everybody.

Considering Owen is a male name...
