My husband and I are trying to have a baby and we've been talking about names a lot.

I've had the name Lucy picked out for a girl since I was little. To my surprise my husband LOVES it.

It seems Lucy is becoming more trendy these days though. What do you think?

For middle names we were thinking Lucy Olivia (very trendy I know, but it sounds nice), Lucy Amelia, Lucy Emmeline. Do you have any other ideas for middle names for Lucy?

I don't think Lucy is trendy. Popular, yes, but the name Lucy could never be like Nevaeh or Addison. It's much too classic.

I like Lucy Amelia.

Lucy Matilda
Lucy Violet
Lucy Juliet
Lucy Madeline
Lucy Annabelle
Lucy Adele
Lucy Abigail

If you're worried about Lucy seeming trendy, I'd stay away from Lucy Olivia or Lucy Emmeline. I like both names, but both seem to be trendy lately (although Emmeline is less popular, it's still super trendy).

Lucy Amelia is beautiful!!! I would totally go for that one if I were you. The other two are also very pretty, but Lucy Amelia is my favourite.

Also, Lucy Madeline, Juliet and Annabelle are very nice, though I have always preferred Annabel.

We seem to have similar tastes, and my pick for Lucy is Lucy Violet. Very nice names you have, and I'm glad you and your husband agree!

Go for it! Lucy is a great name and you both agree on it!! I'm sure the Chronocles of Narnia have helped boost the popularity a bit, but as f right now it's not like it's in the top ten (or is it?! I don't believe so) I don't hear about too many Lucys these days, it'd be great to have some around!

Lucy Amelia is great! It is popular, but I would never call it trendy, and it's such a wonderful name.

I think Lucy fits the modern trends without being too common. I think it's a good choice.

Lucy Olivia is nice. I like when the super popular names are used as mns instead. There a bazillion little Olivias out there right now, but I rarely see Olivia as the mn. Lucy Amelia would actually be my personal favorite, as I love both names. But all your combos are nice.

I think it's a great name, it would be my first choice for a daughter too.
I wouldn't worry about the popularity either - I live in the UK where it is top 10 popular, and although I've met plenty of Lucys, it's not common to the point where your daughter would go through her whole live being Lucy S. or whatever.

My MN picks would probably be Lucy Ellen or Lucy Alice (after my grandmothers), and I think Lucy Anna is a nice combo too.

I love Lucy. I think it's a rather under-rated name. I've never actually met a Lucy in real life, though. Lucia, yes, Lucy, no.

But if you want to see how popular it is over time, as well as other names, I'd suggest using this (http://www.babynamewizard.com/voyager). It's ahh so cool.

Lucy Amelie (ah-meh-lee) sounds so pretty
or
Lucy Evelyn (or Lucy Eve)
but I think Lucy Emmeline is really nice too.
