How do you feel about the name Coraline?

I keep seeing advertisements for that new Tim Burton movie Coraline and I think I'm falling in love with the name.

I really like the sound of it, but I feel like a lot of people would mistake it for Caroline. I will forever associate it with the book, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing--very pretty name overall.

Yep - I look at it and think straight away of the book.

I've been thinking about it too lately for that very reason. I love it.

I think Cora is really really cute! And Coraline is growing on me, but I still prefer just Cora. That movie looks adorable. :)

I like it. Wasn't aware of the movie or book though. It always reminds me of that Motion City Soundtrack song that has it in it.

Sounds too lipsticky for my taste, but not actually ugly...

I know it's a legit name, but it just looks like a dyslexic Caroline to me. It also seems kind of pretentious.

I love it (Cora-LEEN), I also like a lot Cora, which works great as a nn.

My only thing with it is that it could be mistaken for Caroline, but I think that's also a beautiful name, so that's not so bad

I wanted our daughter's name to be Coraline, but it's just Cora. I love both =]

I prefer Cora.
I'm sure it's a legit name, but I've never seen the name Coraline before- it looks like a name that's trying too hard to fit the old fashioned name trend that some people are going for these days.

I used to know a girl named Coralie who liked to say 'coralie does it orally' because it rhymed..and now I can't stand the name. lol

It's actually not a Tim Burton film, though it was directed by the same person as The Nightmare Before Christmas, Henry Selick. It's based on the novella by Neil Gaiman.

Sorry if that's more information than you wanted to know.

But I think the name's okay. I wouldn't use it.

I really don't like it, every time I see the advertisement I feel like they are saying it wrong or I'm saying it wrong. Maybe it'll grow on me.

I love the name Coraline - I think it is so adorable - but when I read the book when I was little it completely traumatized me for some reason - the thought of replacing your eyes with buttons just completely wigged me out - so for that reason I can not use the name Coraline.

I like it. I don't really like the nickname Cora though. Enough to keep me from using it.
