I like Clare better, but I think this is technically the masculine spelling of the name, usually short for Clarence.

I work with a guy named Claire and I'm pretty sure it has the i in it. But maybe he just has a girl name. =P

I don't mind either, however I think Claire looks more complete, and were I to use it, it would be the I spelling.

I much prefer Claire. I love the name so much, but my fiance says it sounds to plain with our future last name (and it's true -- they're both one syllable). I would love it for a middle name for a girl.

I actually know a man named Clare, so to me Clare is a boy and Claire is a girl. I'm not crazy about either, but they have kind of grown on me.

Clare. Claire looks like it'll be stuck eternally on a little girl, Clare looks like Clara, which I think looks more mature.

I'm very torn. Six Feet Under=Claire, Time Traveler's Wife= Clare.

Either way, I really like the name.

Well I prefer Khlayer. J/K.

Clare is my BFF's momma's name. She lives in London so I've always thought that Clare was the British spelling while Claire/Clair was a more Americanized version.
