What do you guys think of the name Gentrie?

What sex does it sound like it's for? ;)

If she had a twin, Bourgeoisie would be nice.
And, if you're really fearless, their brother could be named Proletariat.

Or there's always "Haute Monde" if a two-words-for-the-first name style is a choice.

"why"

Slip it in where you think it makes sense, since I apparently forgot to.

I agree that it looks like a misspelled version of the vocabulary word gentry (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=gentry).

If you like the meaning, perhaps there is something here (http://www.behindthename.com/php/search.php?terms=king+queen+ruler+reign+prince&nmd=m&suppress=yes&title=Royal+Names&heading=none) that you'd enjoy?

If you like names with similar sounds, perhaps you'd like Genevieve, Ginevra, Geneva, Gentian, or Gemma. Or, for the ending, Audrey, Signy or Dagny... hm, I'm not doing very well with this part, sorry!

I always liked the sound of "Gentry," probably for a boy, but I doubt I'd use it.

I think it sounds like the name of a truck or a car or something. I don't like it at all.

The spelling looks like it's for a girl but saying it in my head, it sounds like a boy name.

Boy or girl. I'd prefer people to only use it if it was their last name, though.

Sounds like a boy's name.

Also reminds me of sidhe. They're called "the gentry" sometimes. Heh.

Sounds like something I should be studying for my English Society exam. I definitely do not like that as a name. It's not a word that translates well to a child's name.

And yes, then you could name the siblings Nobilitie, Aristocracie, Peasantrie, Yeomanrie...
