I hate it on girls, but mainly because my brother is a Rowan.

It's mostly male to me but I think it could work for either gender--I just prefer it on guys.

I hate Rowan, but I hate it more on a girl.

Having a boy Rowan, I think it's ridiculous on a girl. Might as well call her John.

I see it as male only. I guess if I knew a girl Rowan I could get used to it though. (I mean, I have a girlfriend called Trevor so that almost seems unisex to me.)

Eh, I always thought of it as a girls name because the only person I've met with the name was female.
I think it works on either though.

It's one of the few names that I do kind of like on both. But I like it better on a boy. It's not a name I would use myself, but I do quite like it.

In my mind if it's Rowan it's a boy, and a girl if it's Rowen. (Or Rowena's even better!)

Hmm, the only Rowan I've known is a girl (she actually changed her name from Monica to Rowan) and I never realized it was used as a male name. I like it for either gender, though.

It's my favorite boys' name. I can't picture it on a girl, and whenever I try I picture a bearded woman at a circus. Ick.

It just sounds so overly masculine, I really cringe when I hear it as a girl name. Names like Rowan, Silas, Ezekiel--they just sound manly to me.

I've met three female Rowans and no males. I see it as pretty gender neutral.
I much prefer Rowena on girls, though.

I've always thought of it as a male name, but I can see it being pretty on a girl too.

I don't think of it as having any specific gender.

I see it as a male name, but I guess you could use it for a girl if she didn't mind that no-one would know from her name what gender she was.

I think of it as traditionally male, though I do like it on a girl better than the feminine version Rowena.

I don't think it's a very feminine name.

I like it much better on a girl than on a boy. Probably because my first crush's sister was called Rowan!
