Okay, so I play Claire Fisher from Six Feet in a role playing game and she is going to be having a baby girl with Ted Fairwell (yes, I know this goes against SFU cannon). Even through the baby won't be born until February 2010 I've already done some serious scouring and searching and I've come up with Zoe Ruth. I really put alot of thought into this (the last few names I've come up with for the game have been spur of the moment and I havn't been overly pleased) and it's been fun coming up with their naming styles. Claire is an artist and pretty liberal so I figured that she would lead towards names were unique and just a little out there (like Blythe). Ted is a conservative lawyer and enjoys pop music so I pretty much figured he would enjoy classic and trendy names (like Emily). I think Zoe is a happy medium and Ruth is the name of Claire's mom. I'd be willing to consider some other names and I'd like to have them be all set on a boy's name before they find out it's a girl.



Some family names that could be incorporated (these are directly from SFU):
Nathaniel (Claire's brother and father both are dead, so I'd prefer to use it as a middle name)
David (Claire's other brother)
Ruth (Claire's mom)
Sarah (Claire's aunt)
Connor (Claire's mom's maiden name was O'Connor)
Elizabeth (Ted's sister)





Max, 4
Aidan Christopher, 2 (one of the name I came up with on the spot and it actually fits him quite well)
Isabel "Isa", 2 (she has two or three middle names but I can't remember them)
Ellie, about 5 months
David Michael, will be born in November and will actually go by Kit (his older sister, Isa, wanted a kitten instead of a brother) and his mom and Claire may have a disagreement over who gets to use this name
Thomas "Tommy" Alexander, won't be born for a few years
Sophia "Sophie" sister to Tommy and also won't be born for a few years

Aidan was also going to have a younger sister named Hannah at one point.



I know this may seem strange, but it's quite fun coming up with names different characters would use and also just a little difficult.

Something that's just kinda random. Ted's full name was never mentioned on Six Feet Under so I thought I might play with a little. Tedford Kyle is a family name from Uncle Ted's family (he's a second and his son is a third). I like the name, but I'm not sure if I want to use it for Ted. Does anyone know any other names besides Theodore and Tedford that Ted could be short for?

Ted is also a nickname for Edward (Ted Kennedy?). I suppose it could also be used for other Ed- names? Edgar, Edwin...

I struggle with the thought of Claire having a child, cause we know she doesn't but I think she definitely would have considered using Ruth as a middle name :)

I know. I started playing Claire before I saw the fifth season (somewhat of a mistake), so my Claire is quite a bit different than what she became on the show.

My husband goes by Ted and his name is Albert Edward III. Apparently it's a more common nickname for Edward in England? His paternal grandmother is English. No one here ever gets it.

Our neighbor's name is also Ted and their little son is Thaddeus. We don't know them too well, but I think perhaps that the father is also a Thaddeus.
