Today I scored a regional contest for k-12 students. Here were the names, which I can remember, of the participants:

Mihir (M)
Anthony
Daniel (Danny)
Braden
Michael
Samuel (Sam)
Danielle
Julianna
Tiffany
Andrew
Samantha
Zulay
Yaneth (F)
Yansi (prn. Yahn-say, I think, F)
Keila

When I was looking at her paper, I couldn't figure out what Keila actually spelled....who knew it was prn. Kayla...not me. :-)

The only one of these names I like is Andrew.
I know a guy named Mihir, and a girl named Keilah pronounced like Kayla.

Keila is a Hebrew name, it means "citadel".
I think it's easy to pronounce, it's just like Leila but with a K.
I far prefer the spelling Keila to Kayla.

Hmm. I think I'm partial to the name Daniel/Danny because I know so many people with that name. And Michael is my cousin's name so I associate that name with him. Samuel/Sam is my ex's name.

I like Danielle, Julianna (it reminds me of my friend Julianne because we had an instructor who kept calling her Julianna), Tiffany (it reminds me of "Breakfast at Tiffany's"), Samantha (I loved that name when I was younger and watched "Wishbone".)

Speaking of not knowing how to pronounce Keila, I found a DJ whose name is Keleigh. Not sure if that's pronounced Kayley or Kelly.

I like Samuel, and yes, Braden. I would never use it, and I spell it different, but I still like it!

My name is Danielle & I swear, I have no idea how many times it's been pronounced wrong. I still to this day have to tell people it's pronounced "Dan-yell" not "Dany-ell" or "Daniel". Keila looks like it would be pronounced Keeyla, not Kayla.
