Cornish Girl Names

These are a few Cornish girls names I've always liked.

Demelza (The heroine of Winston Graham's Poldark novels)
Ellery (A swan)
Kerensa/Kerenza (means "love" in Cornish)
Lowenna (Joyful) Lowdy can be used as a knick name.
Tegan (A pretty little thing)
Tamsin (Cornish version of Thomasina)

I personally adore Kerensa. I'm expecting in May and wanted to name our baby that if it was a girl but my husband hates it :(

I was almost named Demelza myself.

I knew a Demelza once, but I really don't like the name.

I do love Tamsin, though.

Never heard of Kerensa...it's not something I'd use but it has a pretty sound and meaning!

I quite like Gaelic names, and since Cornish names have a somewhat similar sound, I did some research and found I also like:
Caja
Carlin
Rosenwyn (so cute!)

And for boys Conan. Too bad that reminds me of...well...Conan!

I actually quite like Demelza, but possibly because I read the Poldark novels and was somewhat in love with Ross Poldark >.<

I like Ellery too. And I think Lowenna is kind of pretty. I've never liked Tegan or Tamsin.

I've loved Tamsin ever since I saw it in a novel--too bad I can't remember what novel it was! I wouldn't use Demelza or Kerensa, but I think they're pretty, too.
