If I end up having a little Leo baby (which I'm hoping for!), I like the names Leander, Leandra, Leon, Leona, and other such derivatives. But I especially love the name Leander, even if he turns out to be a Cancer. What do you guys think of this?

Also the name Calla, pronounced Kye-ya. For a girl, obviously. I just don't know if I could get away with this, considering the baby will have a blatantly Irish last name.

Calla is pretty, but the only thing I thought of was Calla Lily. Not sure I'd get to Kye-ya. Leander--hey if you love it go for it.

It doesn't seem too odd to me because that would be the Spanish pronunciation, but now that you point that out I can definitely understand where you're coming from.

I think I do love it! Feedback from the boyfriend is most important, but I like other people's input, too.

I don't care for Calla. I agree that, if you live in the U.S., you may be better off with Kaia. Leander is great though. :)

The Spanish A is not pronounced like our hard I. It's an ah sound. So it would be Cah-ya, not kye-ya.

Leander isn't my style but I think it is a perfectly nice name and if you really like it you should go for it!

I can see where you're getting your pronunciation of Calla, but I think that most people would pronounce it like
CAL-la so it could be an issue. I love that name though!

I like Leonie. It was one of the most popular German names last near.
