I was wondering what you all think of the name Eisley for a girl?

(It's not after the band, but rather after Mos Eisley, the Star Wars spaceport the band took its name from. My fiance and I are both huge SW fans.)

At first, it sounds a lot like Ainsley, which I really like, so anything similar but different, irks me.

On second glance, it looks like a mesh between Elvis and Presley.
And then like some other name that was scrambled up.

I like the idea behind it, though :)

I feel like a place name would seem a little less obviously geeky than a character name (though fewer people know Mara Jade or Jaina than Leia or Amidala, obviously). I once heard a woman in a store call her son's name, Anakin Daniel, and I felt kinda bad for the little guy to have such an obvious movie referenced name. Plus, people use place names all the time- Dakota, Asia, Paris, etc.

Oh, I like it a LOT. It's subtle (unlike naming her one of childofroses suggestions) and very pretty sounding.

it's one of my faaaaaavorites. i probably wouldn't use it other than for a middle name because elliott is just about the only boys name i like and i wouldn't want doubles, but i think it has such a pretty sound to it.
