I had a very strange dream last night (in which I was pregnant, among other things). I didn't know the sex of my baby - but the names I had picked out were Liliana Grace (Lily) for a girl and Christopher John for a boy. What do you think?

1.) That dash thing is an old wives tale, it's been on this community more than four times now, in the amount of time I've been a member of this community.

2.) Can you really sue someone for pronouncing a name wrong? I don't really think the courts would let people waste their time.

2) How can anyone guess that the daughter's name is LaDashda when there's no dash in "La-da"? It should be "LaHyphenda." Maybe they should sue the mother instead for being able to pronounce her daughter's name correctly?

she should be sued for an all around lack of grammatical knowledge. or be forced into a re-education camp (i should probably join her)

Oh, and in WTF news: There's a woman in my city trying to sue the school district for not being able to correctly pronounce her daughter's name. The name? La-da (pronounced LaDashda).

I had a student like that my first year. I think her name was written Naf-ti but it wasn't pronounced the way one might think. when my coworker asked her to spell it she said, "N-A-F-subtraction sign-T-I" and had the nerve to have some attitude behind that.

Gotta love New York = /

Oh god. What a great use of the justice system. *rolls eyes* and christhiane is right! LaHyphenda would be more accurate!

The names aren't bad. Just boring and blah for me.
Lily is one of my favourite names. I just wish it wasn't so common. :(

Urban legends (http://www.snopes.com/racial/language/le-a.asp) in this community always make me twitch.

I like Lily and Christopher John, but not Liliana.

LaDashda? And SHE'S suing THEM? I think the daughter should sue HER.
