I would think that Janette was just a creative spelling of Janet, and would pronounce it accordingly. If you want JUH-net, I would use Jeanette.

thank you. I've just seen it spelled both ways and was not sure about the proper spelling. I'll go with Jeanette then!

Janette looks like it would be pronounced the same as Janet, as are Harriet/Harriette, Juliet/Juliette, etc.

I don't like it, no, but I think that it should probably be spelled Jeanette. It looks more correct. Janette looks like some kind of creative spelling.
