[identity profile] autophoblamb.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Okay so I'm not having a baby I'm just writing a story and naming my characters always seems impossible. So the character names I have right now are.
Emmaline, (Emma-LEEN) and because so many people don't like this name I'm also considering Maria.
Henry, Violet (They're sibs. I'm not sure about Violet so if you have a better suggestion I'm open.)
then another boy who I don't have a name for at all. (He's Native American by the way.)

So give me suggestions and tell me what you think of the names I already have picked out.
Thanks!

Yes they were! I'd forgotten about that series until you mentioned that! It's too bad, I really like both of those names together.

I didn't even think of that until you mentioned it.

I like Emmeline pronounced EM-ma-line.

Agreed. I would never pronounce it -leen.

I prefer Emmalina, but I still like Emmaline :)

Henry & Violet I'm not a fan of personally but they do fit together.

I like Henry and Violet together, even without the Boxcar Children reference. I'd only even think of that if there was a Benny or Jessie in the family. :)

I agree. Like I only would have thought of it if all 4 names were there.

As for the whole Henry/Violet thing, I don't think it's a big deal. Sure, they were used as siblings in the Boxcar Childrens series, but they were also used as siblings in the TV show "Wind at My Back" (Henry was called Fat). So I don't think it's a big deal. It's not like either name was invented by the author.

I don't really have suggestions for names, but I wanted to tell you that I totally agree with how hard naming characters are.
