Recently (as in the last few days) I have fallen in love with new names, 2 of which are not even remotely close to my normal naming style.

Julia- Once i realized that it's practically the same as Juliana without being quite as cumbersome on a tiny girl.

Violet- I used to hate it and think "Violet, you're turning violet Violet!" but it worked its way in...

Maisy- It reminds me of this song i used to listen to when i was little, about a guy asking a girl named Maisy to marry him. About 2 minutes ago, i discovered the song was about a girl named Daisy, but i still like Maisy better.

My top girl names are very 80's/90's (Samantha, Lauren, Cadence) and these (at least Violet and Maisy) are a little more... 50's? What are some good middle names, especially for Maisy? So far i have Maisy Jo, Maisy Jane (sounds a lot like mary jane though...) and Maisy Violet.

I don't really like Julia. It's very vanilla. I like Julianne a bit better than any of the other Jul- names. I don't like flower names at all. I don't like Maisy, it reminds me of Dr. Seuss. Maisy Olivia, Maisy Elisabeth, Maisy Elena, Maisy Lenore, Maisy Eleanor, Maisy Alexandra

I think there's a children's book series about a mouse named Maisy.

I'm not good with middle names, so I have nothing to offer there, but I like all 3 of these first names :) I think they're more "now" names than 50's names.

I like em. =)
There's nothing wrong with using "50's" names, it just means the children will be unique without being kre8tive haha.

I think we sang that song in elementary school chorus.
I would have said it was about a bicycle built for two, though.

I just had a student named Maisee, but it turns out her name was actually pronounced something like My-zee.

I like Maisy Jo and Maisy Violet, but the long As in Maisy and Jane sound funny next to each other for me.

Julia kind of bores me, but I adore Juliet. Maisy (spelled Maisey) is cute, but it sounds like a nickname. Maybe as a nn for Margaret? I love Violet.

I have a cousin called Maisy and it was kind of cute at first, but honestly, she's six now and she's too old for it. As a nickname for Margaret, it's all right, because at least she would have a different name to fall back on.

Julia is my name!! :) Well, I'm Jules to most of my family and friends but still! I used to really dislike it but I've grown to really love it as I got older. It's pretty and unique without being weird, you know? It's Julia Elizabeth, just in case you are wondering about middle names too.
