Dec. 22nd, 2008 10:32 amRecently (as in the last few days) I have fallen in love with new names, 2 of which are not even remotely close to my normal naming style.
Julia- Once i realized that it's practically the same as Juliana without being quite as cumbersome on a tiny girl.
Violet- I used to hate it and think "Violet, you're turning violet Violet!" but it worked its way in...
Maisy- It reminds me of this song i used to listen to when i was little, about a guy asking a girl named Maisy to marry him. About 2 minutes ago, i discovered the song was about a girl named Daisy, but i still like Maisy better.
My top girl names are very 80's/90's (Samantha, Lauren, Cadence) and these (at least Violet and Maisy) are a little more... 50's? What are some good middle names, especially for Maisy? So far i have Maisy Jo, Maisy Jane (sounds a lot like mary jane though...) and Maisy Violet.

Date: 2008-12-22 07:08 pm (UTC)I'm not good with middle names, so I have nothing to offer there, but I like all 3 of these first names :) I think they're more "now" names than 50's names.

Date: 2008-12-22 08:14 pm (UTC)There's nothing wrong with using "50's" names, it just means the children will be unique without being kre8tive haha.
Daisy, Daisy, Give me your answer true

I just had a student named Maisee, but it turns out her name was actually pronounced something like My-zee.
I like Maisy Jo and Maisy Violet, but the long As in Maisy and Jane sound funny next to each other for me.
