[identity profile] wingsofmaybe.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames

Hi, everybody, I'm new to LiveJournal. This is my first post, so bear with me. I'm not a parent yet. Someday, hopefully. I love names, however, so here is my list of favorites. I like a lot of namesakes and family names. Also a lot of my favorite names are inspired by songs/lyrics I think my list reflects that. There aren't many girls' names as I don't like many.

I like Ezra, Hiram and Rawley - but only think of the first two as Mormon names, just because I've known them to be used by mormons most often, which is neither here nor there.

I did hear a funny story about a mother screaming at her kids in a parking lot to get in the van so she could go get 'Hi' - which was short for Hiram, but certainly didn't sound like that to other people! -L-

Welcome!

Usually I don't like hyphenated names, but I actually like John-atticus.

I love the name James, but it is a family name in my case. My uncle is James Claude and my brother is Robert James.

I like:
James Mateo
James Miguel
James Carlos
James Andres
James Tiago
James Stephen (for Steve Irwin)
James River (Personally, (since you have a lot of dedications here) I like the name River because of River Phoenix, who is an outspoken animal rights activist)
James Eric (for Eric Clapton) - Yes, yes, yes.
James Patrick (for Jimmy Page)
James Marshall (for Jimi Hendrix) - Nice.
James Douglas (for Jim Morrison) - :)
James Robert (for Robert Plant)
James Lennon (for John Lennon) - I love, love, love John Lennon (and the name Lennon) and would use this for my future child.

Is Calkins a mn or ln? I don't really like it as a mn, but I like these first names:

Anakin (I actually really like this name)
Hiram
River
Ezra

Girls:
Delilah Claire
Lucy Matilda

Also, have you ever considered using Lennon as a girl's name? I think it's lovely.

I love Delilah Claire. I would caution against Anakin. I know a young boy named Anakin and he hates his name. He is always being teased in class because of the Starwars connection, or the fact that they say it sounds like a girl's name.
