My friend Jamie passed away in January at the age of sixteen, and I was thinking that I wanted to name my firstborn after her. However, I don't like Jamie as a first name for a boy or a girl, but as a middle name for a boy.

I love Caius, Koda, Balian, Wade, Thoreau, Jacques and William, but none fit.

I can't find any names that would go with Jamie. Any suggestions?

Why not James? Was that his real name? I think any of your names sound good with James as a middle name, and I especially think James Caius or James Thoreau sound good.

Haha, my bad. Still, the sounds of Jamie and James are so close that I think she could still use it to honor her friend.

James would be a logical choice, but the only James I know who goes by his given name is a mindless jock who likes to brag about his penis in the middle of history class. He spoiled the name for me.

Anyway, I still think that if your first child was a boy, you could name him William James to honor your friend.
