Lumi

Hi, I have a question about the name Lumi. Lumi is the Finnish word for snow and it is also used as a girls name here (there are now about 1000 girls here called Lumi) but I have heard that it is also a Chilean name. If there are any people here from Chile/Latin America, have you ever heard this name before?

It's pronounced something like Loo-me (short e) in Finnish. WDYT?

My husband has an obsession with Finnish names (which is amusing because he doesn't have a drop of Finnish blood in him), and I usually shoot down his naming suggestions for our future children. But I daresay I do like Lumi! I will definitely be suggesting this one to him!

Just poking my head in to say that it's also a Japanese name, though it's more commonly spelled Rumi.
