Other than 'El', I can't really think of another good nick name to come from what's a short name to begin with.
If you or someone else is wanting to use the name Elvis but wanting to minimize the obvious association, you could use Elvis with a middle name, preferably one starting with the letter J, and you could do a nick name combo of either just initials, as in E.J.("Ee-jay") or you could do El-J.
LOL, this is sort of outlandish but you could take the ending "vis" and do Vespa. Which, clearly, does not sound like "-vis" at all, but it was what my mind first came up with. Lol, sorry, need sleep.
